Iran Vacation Fall 07?

It should not be surprising that the USA is planning on attacking Iran. Even France is warming to the idea. What is surprising and disheartening the lack of support internally for an attack and also that it seems this will be an Air Force only plan. Limited wars do not work!

"The US president faces strong opposition to military action, however, within his own joint chiefs of staff. “None of them think it is a good idea, but they will do it if they are told to,” said a senior defence source."

#1. What the president of Iran said was that Iran does not have gays "like [the US] has here." He did not say they do not exist, but he was talking about "how" they exist, mainly saying that there is no "culture" of homosexuality for lack of a better term... they don't organize rallies, they are not very public, so on... and its true... but one could too easily argue-truthfully-that that is because they are oppressed and fear retribution.

2. Thats what gets me about the military. "We follow orders or people get killed" (actually people get killed anyway, they mean the wrong people I gues). All military guys I know are so proud that they agreed to substitute their own intellect, their own beliefs, their own moral compass, by simple following orders because they come from a supposed superior. If you ask me, thats not something to be proud of. And that is why I do not understand people who are big fans of Colin Powel ("yeah, he mislead the country and the UN, but he's a military guy with a military upbringing and a military education, he has to follow the orders of the commander-in-chief." great, let the stupid lead the blind)
