Ok, this whole terrorism thing is getting out of hand. I have no idea how a 15 minute cartoon about a meatwad, box of fries, and shake can cause a terrorism scare.

Video of guys who got arrested giving a press conference after getting out of jail. Said press conference was all about 70's hair styles. Fox News was not happy. "Does anyone have any other hair questions?"

So why did Boston react differently than other cities? And how was this a hoax? These were just cartoons lit up to promote a movie.

It's unfortunate that these types of measures have to be taken, but if it would have been a bomb or some other threat, and it had detonated then everyone would be saying "Why didn't you stop it or react to the threat?!?!" No matter what the case, we're damned if we do and damned if we don't.
I don't even wanna know what those people were thinking. In a post-9/11 world were war on terrorism is on the minds of most law officials, wouldn't this be obvious that something like this might be viewed as a threat? The company should have it least told the police about it. But like Jenny said "we're damned if we do and damned if we don't."

I don't get how this could be seen as a threat. It had a little guy flipping people off, not exactly your typical bomb or IED.
That's what an IED is. IED's are meant to be seen as "well that's not too out of place". They said it had tape and junk sticking out of the back. IN my view I think it was a controlled response to a potential threat. I think people are making a huge deal out of nothing.

As for IEDs, they typically are cans and other enclosed metallic materials so they spray molten metal everywhere. They are not typically neon signs of cartoon characters flipping people off, but let me know if any hears more about those Snoopy red baron bombs.
To be honest when we were on patrol and on convoys in Irag we all would wish we saw IEDs that flashed light, unfortunatly cardboard boxes and cans don't. I think they would have saved some headaches (Turner)if they ran this by the proper people before hand. Turner did say they are paying back the money that was lost which is a good thing. But who doesn't know the mooninites WTF?
People need to stop being over analytical! Everything and everyone is a threat! I guess that's why the Patriot Act was passed, right?
It is all in context. Haha, do you see any flashing things anywhere in Iraq other than Baghdad and munitions. Cities in the us are loaded with flashy crap. In all reality... the likleihood of some tpye of "IED" attack in the states is miniscule. However, every morning that I ride the Blue line in a cart with 100 people... and unchecked luggage bags makes me see a potential oppertunity for a potential terrorist.
What I can't believe is that the GM and executive VP of Cartoon Network resigned as a consequence of the controversy...
