Welcome to Brandon Valeriano's International Relations Blog. This space will be used to keep my students, friends and colleagues updated with international news, research, class issues, and anything else I think is interesting. Please feel free to let me know if you think the blog is missing coverage of something.
"Part of the genius of people like Einstein, or of any great artist for that matter, is the ability to see the obvious, the things we take for granted, and question it in a new way and make its inherent strangeness apparent." Overbye, NYTimes

When we went after their officials it was for a reason. We had intelligence that they were up to no good and guess what some of those guys were caught with? Iran effectivley made a joke of us and our allies for 2 weeks. "Yea, so, what are you going to do about it?" When Iran gets their nuclear weapon - and I'm sure they will since nobody has the right sense to force them to comply rather they will keep asking them to do so - they will be able to do whatever the hell they want. They can openly send terrorists to America have them kill us and what are we going to do about it?
Iran reminds me of Hitler and McArthur pre-WW2. McArthur tried to convince his countrymen that you can't bargain with evil and that diplomacy won't work. They told him he was wrong and to keep his mouth shut. Britain almost fell because of stupidity.
The pentagon estimates the entire Iranian Navy can be destroyed in an hour. We can have air superiority as soon as soon as we get our fighters in the air. Maybe next time they decide to kidnap soldiers we should blow them out of the fucking water.
"We were blindfolded at all times and kept in isolation from each other," Lieutenant Felix Carman said.
In an agreed statement, the military personnel said they were told that if they did not admit they had strayed into Iranian waters, they faced seven years in prison.
"We were interrogated most nights and given two options. If we admitted that we had strayed, we would be back on a plane to the UK pretty soon. If we didn't, we faced up to seven years in prison," they revealed.
They heard weapons being cocked behind them and feared the worst.
Further proof why we should have blown them out of the fucking water.
Better remove that one.
